The Maguire Aviation Group, LLC was formed in 2005 by Alec Maguire and George Witchell, a senior consultant with significant expertise in corporate aviation and flight department management. Both shared a passion to provide a new level of excellence in services, operations and facilities to today’s corporate aviation marketplace. Our company began in the 1980s as Maguire Aviation, Inc., a private flight department for real estate entrepreneur Robert F. Maguire III of Maguire Properties, Inc.
George and Alec had been working together since 1995 at VisionAir, Inc., a Van Nuys-based aircraft consulting and management company that provided Part 91 services to high-profile clients. In that time, the VisionAir fleet expanded from a single Citation to a variety of aircraft, including several Gulfstreams.
VisionAir was purchased in 2004 by Maguire Aviation, Inc., after Alec identified an opportunity to bring the excellence and innovation associated with the Maguire name to the fixed-base operations segment. The new company, Maguire Aviation Group, LLC, was founded in 2005. After reviewing several fixed-base operations, the company opted to purchase the former Petersen Aviation facility in September 2006. VisionAir’s management and consulting capabilities are now part of the broader spectrum of FBO-related services that Maguire Aviation provides to our clients and guests.
